Books arrived!

Thanks to the generous support of family and friends, we had several books we took out into the community.  With the money we received we bought more books and bought some art supplies.
We took donations to the orphanage, school for special needs students, village school, and the home for AIDS victims.

Here is the local village school where we delivered books.  The children were so happy to receive them. They don't have any books in their library.

Information About Book and a Buck

Mission of the Book and a Buck Initiative:
Empowering Communities through Education and Outreach

Objectives:

• provide resources to local schools
• promote literacy through after school programs
• empower through education with the implementation of community trainings
• create a community that feels empowered through education

What will the Community Center Provide?

- Place to provide educational programs

- Resource Center to provide literacy programs and trainings

- Place for people to meet to get resources and take educational resources to disseminate into the community.

American University has donated space for us to use to get things started....

We need resources to make this center a reality.

Where will your donation go?

- books will go to local schools and libraries that are in desperate need of resources

- dollar will go towards providing after school programs, educational programs in public health, and teacher training

What can you do to help?

- Donate one book and one buck...with your book and dollar, you can help our mission of empowering communities through education and outreach

- Organize local book drives in your school and community

- Give the gift of a donated book to a family member or friends for the holiday.
